As part of our Air Care  conferences we have wonderful social events in the venue and nearby areas. You will be happy to hear that Air Care 2015, your premier event for leaders of all Public Benefit Flying Organizations, will be held in San Antonio, Texas on April 24-25, 2015.  And some attendees will arrive early on Thursday the 23rd and share an informal dinner together.

In addition to VIP speakers welcoming us to San Antonio and regaling us at the closing banquet, we will have speakers and panels covering a variety of topics, including:

The morning will be devoted to topics of general interest to all VPO staff and leadership including
 — “Telling your Story” led by Aaron Bramley of lightscamerahelp.org.  Aaron is a speaker, videographer, storyteller, and founder of lightscamerahelp.org, an Austin Texas based nonprofit organization that is dedicated to encouraging other nonprofit and cause-driven organizations to use film and video to tell their stories. They do this through our education program (Learn with LCH), the Reel Change Film Frenzy and an annual film festival.
— Air Care Alliance leadership survey Results  — We will reveal the results of our recent survey of VPO founders, officers, directors, and Executive directors and discuss what seem to be their priorities for ACA in the future.
— Strategic Information Technology for VPOs led by Stephan Fopeano.  Stephan is an information technology strategist with deep roots in the Volunteer Pilot movement and is a key resource to VPOs in the development and deployment of VPOIDS (AFIDS).  Stephan will describe new and emerging trends in information technology to help VPOs efficiently and effectively carry out their mission.
The afternoon will be focused on breakout sessions targeted to specific staff and leadership within VPOs and will include:
— Mission Coordinators’ Workshop — Eileen Minogue of PALS will facilitate a discussion among Mission Coordination staff and volunteers focused on current issues with coordination, cooperation across organizations to complete missions, new ideas for improving efficiency and effectiveness, etc.
— Introduction to VPOIDS — Stephan Fopeano will offer a breakout session for any VPOs not currently using VPOIDS who might be interested in utilizing this industry standard mission coordination technology platform
— Current VPOIDS User Group Workshop — Stephan will also facilitate this separate discussion for current VPOIDS users to talk about new features, potential improvements, issue resolution, tips and tricks, etc.
— Trends in Executive and Board Leadership — This breakout session will be focused specifically on Executive Director/CEOs and board members and will provide an opportunity to share best practices, board recruitment and engagement strategies, cooperation between VPOs at a strategic level, etc.
— Regulatory and Legislative Update — Our panel will reveal the status of reforms and legislation regarding FAA’s treatment of fuel reimbursement, volunteer pilot and group liability relief in the Pilots Bill of Rights, and related issues.
— Membership Meeting and Board elections — a final General Session and elections plus important announcements and news such as the Public Benefit Flying Awards – East and West – and many other items of interest!
