The Air Care Alliance (ACA) is proud to announce that Mark Hanson has been selected as the organization’s new President, following the passing of longtime leader Jim Hesseman earlier this year.
Reflecting on this leadership transition, Hanson shared, “Jim was both a mentor and a friend. I learned so much from him about the heart of public benefit flying, and I recognize the big shoes I have to fill. It is an honor to continue his legacy while helping ACA grow its reach and impact.”
Hanson has served on the ACA Board of Directors since 2020, most recently as Vice President. He is a seasoned FAASTeam Safety Representative, accomplished aviator, and longtime advocate for charitable aviation. He has flown more than 500 volunteer missions supporting children, veterans, patients, and wildlife for organizations such as Angel Flight, Veterans Airlift Command, PALS Sky Hope, Turtles Fly Too, STEM Flights, and others.
“Mark has dedicated his personal time and resources to advancing public benefit flying,” said the ACA Board of Directors. “His experience, passion, and leadership will ensure ACA continues to thrive and inspire the next generation of volunteer aviators.”
The Air Care Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public service organization with a mission is to promote, support, and represent public benefit flying.
