Public Benefit Flying Day Scheduled for July 29 at AirVenture

Public Benefit Flying Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 29, during the week of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023. The day recognizes those who volunteer to fly as a way to give back to the community.

Each year thousands of volunteer pilots provide free flights for health, compassion, and community service. The pilots donate their time, skills, and all flight expenses for a variety of humanitarian purposes. ACA members such as the Angel Flight organizations, Pilots N Paws, Operation Airdrop, SouthWings and STEM Flights, provide access to distant medical care, relocate endangered animals, assist with disaster relief efforts, provide conservation support, and much more.

The Air Care Alliance (ACA) is working with EAA to raise visibility for public benefit flying and to promote pilot volunteerism by dedicating this special day at AirVenture.

EAA’s Public Benefit Flying Day honors those who participate in any type of public benefit flying. As part of this day, ACA in assoication with the National Aeronautic Association (NAA) will present the 2022 Public Benefit Flying Awards prior to the afternoon’s airshow. These awards celebrate the service and accomplishments of the many volunteers in aviation who “fly to help others,” performing missions of community and individual service.
