     As previously announced, our Air Care 2017 conference will be held on the East Coast this year.  Patient Airlift Services, PALS, will host us and is planning many great sessions, speakers, and activities at a wonderful hotel on Long Island, near New York City.   

     Each year the Air Care Alliance holds its AIR CARE national conference to bring together those most involved in public benefit flying.  Attendees enjoy learning from, sharing knowledge with, and building relationships among their peers from across the country.
Here are some highlights, hotel and registration information, and the overall schedule of events.

What:     
Thursday Night:  We can recommend one or more restaurants in the area for those who will be in town early and are interested.  Indicate on your registration form if you will be here for dinner Thursday evening.
Friday Day:  Enjoy the day in the Spring! Links will be provided for trip options into NYC or local Long Island attractions
Friday Night:  PALS Hosted Cocktail Reception 

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Marriott Hotel  –  Enjoy socializing with your old friends and make some new ones!  A most pleasurable beginning fo our Air Care gathering!  

8:00 PM – until whenever – Dinner in the area; we will provide recommendations and/or dine at the hotel restaurant.   Indicate on your registration form if you would like to share dinner with ACA folks on Friday evening.

Saturday Day:  Air Care 2017 Conference 
8:30 AM – 4:00 PM  including breakfast and lunch.
Here is some general information – please stay tuned for our next bulletin for titles, speakers, and exact times!
Session topics vary widely!  We cover current and upcoming regulatory issues affecting public benefit flying such as how the BasicMed process may affect volunteer pilots and their groups; a major session on what is legal and what is not regarding fuel reimbursement policies; safety recommendations and other best practices; liability and other legal updates; marketing, organizational development and fundraising; mission coordination and tools; emergency and disaster relief operations and intergroup coordination; hosting special events; membership growth and management systems such as VPOIDS; and much, much more.

Our Museum dinner events will feature:
*    Catered buffet dinner including beer, wine & soda plus 2 tickets for vodka flavored drinks
*    Enjoy the venue and learn about Long Island’s rich history in aviation.  Explore the museum which features an actual Apollo Lunar module. There are more than 30 hands-on exhibits, a half dozen cockpits to climb into, and many short films throughout the exhibits
*    Also included is admittance to “80’s night” onsite with Arcade, Karaoke, 80’s music and additional cash bar (Vodka Flavored drinks, beer, wine and soda)

Sunday:  Departures or local informal outings.
Note:  ACA Board Meeting  9:00 – 11:30 AM 
    

    Why attend?  You and your board and staff members will join other leaders and staff from many established and new public benefit flying groups who believe that we all benefit from the goodwill and mutual support gained from working together and learning from one another. 

     And – we have a LOT of fun doing it!

*    We are pleased to maintain the Saturday conference cost at just $99 per attendee.

*   The gala Cradle of Aviation event Saturday evening will be only $75 per attendee.  Guests are welcome too, for the same fee each.  This includes admission to the museum, beer and wine, (2) vodka drink tickets, a buffet dinner, and access to the evening’s ’80s Night’ extravaganza.

    This will make it much easier to plan for meals and seating.  Note – if we run out of room we will have to close registrations.

Airports:  For commercial flights JFK, LGA, and Long Island MacArthur (ISP) are roughly equidistant from the Long Island Marriott, with comparable transfer times.  

     If you are flying your own aircraft to Air Care 2017 we recommend Republic Airport (FRG) nearby and the FBO: Talon Air.
